Lindsay Lohan is free! Well, sort of.
The actress was released from jail early Monday morning, after spending 13 days in a solitary cell at a facility in Lynwood, Calif. She's now in rehab.
"She was released at 1:35 a.m.," Los Angeles Sheriff's spokesman Steve Whitmore said outside the jail. "She has been sent directly to her next destination, which is a treatment center. And she will now be under the supervision of the L.A. County probation department. This concludes her custody."
Lohan was sentenced to 90 days in jail, after violating probation in her DUI case, but got her sentence significantly reduced due to overcrowding and good behavior. Now it's off to rehab for LiLo. who was originally scheduled to spend three months in an Orange County facility. But the judge in Lohan's case made a last-minute decision to switch her rehab location.
"There was concern that (Morningside Recovery) was not a secure enough facility," District Attorney spokeswoman Jane Robison told People of the last minute switch. Robison added that Judge Marsha Revel was concerned that drugs could be more easily obtained at the original location, and approved of a facility at UCLA Medical Center.
Lohan still needs to be on her best behavior while getting treatment. If she violates any rules of the center, she takes the chance of heading back to the slammer. She will also be randomly drug tested until August 2011, when her probation ends.
