Lindsay Lohan might have joked about her felony theft charges with Jimmy Kimmel, but the actress takes a more serious attitude towards her troubles in an interview with Extra.
"I feel great," Lohan says in her first interview since being charged with allegedly stealing a $2500 necklace from a Venice, Calif., boutique. "I feel happy... There's always things that happen -- bumps we hit in the road. But, as long as I'm focusing on the one thing that I know I need to put first in my life, which is recovery and stuff... I'm doing good, and that's what important for me."
The starlet admits she has a lot of work to do to prove she's hirable in Hollywood once again. "There's gonna be a lot of steps that I have to go through to kind of prove myself again and get the trust from the people that I respect to work with," she said. "But I'm to do what I have to do to get there, because that's my passion."
Lohan even quips that, "I need to prove that I can be insurable again," and confesses that she's "not in a position right now" to list her dream collaborators for future projects. "I don't think that would be fair to just say, 'Oh, this is who I want to work with!' and expect that to happen. No, I have to build my way back up. I get that." Watch for yourself below!
The troubled 24-year-old has two weeks to decide whether she'll accept a plea deal in her case (a move which will most likely send her to jail), or face a trial. With her repeated stints in jail, we have to wonder if the Mean Girls actress can straighten her act out this time around -- but she does, at least, seem sincere about getting her life back in order. And that's a start.
Extra's full interview with Lohan airs Tuesday night.
