Lindsay Lohan is trying to clean up her life... one room at a time. The star appeared on The Insider last night to confess an embarrassing problem: She's a hoarder.
Okay, maybe "confess" is the wrong word. As the cameras panned over rooms full of cardboard boxes, overflowing with clothes and shoes, 23-year-old Lohan denied that she had a problem, saying "It wasn't this bad for a while," and "I just have a lot of stuff," and "I do get rid of as much as I can."
"I have a photographic memory," she swore to Clean House's Niecy Nash, who accompanied The Insider's cameras on the house tour. "I know every single thing that I have. And it's gotten better and better the more I accumulate." When Nash called her bluff, asking her to name the contents of the nearest box, Lindsay couldn't do it. Hmm... is that the sound of denial?
The scenes of Lohan's expensive Hollywood home were certainly shocking: papers and knick-knacks piled high on the floor, framed pictures leaning against unopened cardboard boxes, and more clothing racks in disarray than at a T.J. Maxx. (In fairness, Lohan has labels on all her shoeboxes, which is more than we can say for ourselves!) Despite the actress' wealth, Casa Lohan does seem to resemble homes seen on the A&E show Hoarders. Does it mean the troubled Mean Girls star has a problem?
"Despite it all, I see potential in this mess, and I don't think Lindsay is a hoarder," Nash told the camera. However, she also believes that "clutter is an outward expression of an inward thing" -- and Nash says she plans to get to the bottom of whatever issues are stopping Lohan from cleaning up her domestic act.
