UPDATE: Lindsay Lohan has been taken into custody and was denied bail by the judge. She is headed to jail and will likely stay there until Oct. 22. She will then, most likely, go straight back to rehab.
Sources say the denial of bail is surprising and this is the harshest possible sentence Lohan could have received.
Last month Judge Elden Fox warned LiLo that any slip-ups in her probation would result in another jail sentence. But it seems the looming consequences weren't enough to keep the starlet out of trouble. She did, however, own up to her mistakes via Twitter on Sept. 18.
"Regrettably, I did in fact fail my most recent drug test and if I am asked, I am prepared to appear before judge Fox next week as a result. Substance abuse is a disease, which unfortunately doesn't go away over night. I am working hard to overcome it and am taking positive steps forward every day. I am testing every single day and doing what I must do to prevent any mishaps in the future. This was certainly a setback for me but I am taking responsibility for my actions and I'm prepared to face the consequences. I am so thankful for the support of my fans, loved ones and immediate family, who understand that i am trying hard, but also that I am a work in progress, just as anyone else. I am keeping my faith, and I am hopeful....Thank you all!!!"
If Lohan admits fault, she may hear her sentence today -- and she could be immediately taken into custody to serve up to 30 days in jail. If she decides to fight the charges, the case could go on for weeks.
The court hearing began at 8:30 a.m. PT. Check back for more updates about her fate!
