    Ingredients

    0.5 lb ground beef 28 oz jar tomato basil pasta sauce
    0.5 lb ground Italian sausage 0.5 lb sliced button mushrooms
    1 pn salt and freshly ground black pepper 0.5 c grated parmesan cheese, plus more for serving
    2 clv garlic, minced 3 T chopped fresh basil leaves
    14.5 oz can stewed tomatoes with Italian seasonings 1 lb dried linguine

      Preheat a large saucepan over medium-high heat. Add beef and sausage; season with salt and pepper and brown well. Drain off excess fat.

      Add garlic, tomatoes, sauce, mushrooms and cheese. When bubbly reduce heat to medium and cook 15 minutes, stirring occasionally with a wooden spoon and using the spoon to gently break up the tomatoes.

      Remove from heat; stir in basil. Taste and adjust seasonings.

      While sauce is cooking, prepare linguine according to package directions; drain.

      Divide pasta among 4 bowls and top with sauce. Serve with additional parmesan.
