Our three high powered ladies are presented with work-related obstacles this week. Wendy is in high spirits since one of her movies raked in 40 mil over the weekend. But over in the office, nobody seems to be celebrating. Instead, they were all too busy reading a draft of a tell-all book which very closely follows the Wendy's life as a (terrible) mother. Think The Nanny Diaries meets The Devil Wears Prada. The author of the book is Mariska Havel, her ex nanny who barely speaks English.
Meanwhile, Nico and her team are trying to get the Royal Family on the cover- but it seems they have signed with another magazine. She promises Hector she will get them back- and invites photographer Patty Bloom to talk about what to do for the shoot. Patty brings along her assistant who surprise, surprise- turns out to be Kirby! Clearly all they could think about was each other during the entire meeting. When Kirby returns moments after the meeting is over, Nico tells him “That was a one time thing, I’m married!”, Kirby simply said “I left my notebook”. Awkward!
Victory on the other hand is struggling with her label. She moved her office back home, and her beloved assistant Reese was helping her settle in. Reese was offered another job to which Victory encouraged her to accept. When Victory heads out for an errand, she tells Reese to take whatever she pleases. The sweet girl that I thought was Reese turned completely shady the second Victory stepped out the door- she went through her old sketch books and stole all of her designs! She even passes it off as her! I can’t wait until Vic find out so she can have the wrath of Victory Ford… which basically entails whining, crying and some cupcakes.
Vic later sees her hat sold off the streets to a tranny and is baffled. She even sees it on a grandma later but somehow, it was impossible for her to get the hat of her own design. The hat was a part of a final project she had at FIT, and she needed it to become inspired again. She needed inspiration- fast. There was an upcoming meeting she had with Bergdorf’s and she needed something new to show them.
In an effort to cheer her up, Joe (the Bazillionaire) brings her lunch from
Nico deliberately chooses to pick up something for the shoot at Kirby’s, rather than sending a messenger. While she goes to run her “errand”, they have hot adulterous sex. When Kirby asks about her husband, she speaks of him as a faint memory- a great man, but it’s obvious there is something lacking between them.
Despite Hector’s wishes for Nico to drop the royal family for the cover, she continues to push on. She shows the Royals’ PR relation the boards, and they sign on for the cover. Hector is pissed because she has gone against his wishes. He gives her a warning in the elevator about being a team player and her need to tone her attitude down.
Bad news for Wendy- the book has been picked up by Bainsbridge Publishing. The head of the company, Janice Lasher, is Wendy’s enemy and a huge bitch. One segment of the book talks about her having to reschedule her son’s birthday party and portrays Wendy as the worst mother of life. She questions how Mariska would even know that since she wasn’t at the party. Hmm? Shane starts to act fishy and slightly scared, tosses the draft and tells her to go to bed. Mariska starts to cave and leaves a voicemail for Wendy saying she didn’t mean to hurt her… but they offered her so much money… yadi yadi ya. In her last attempt to rid the book, she brings Shane along to convince Mariska not to publish it. That’s when Shane fesses up and tells her that he was the one who told her about the party. He reasons that he just needed to rant- but she’s hurt because he basically called her a bad mother. After ditching him on the side of the streets, he shows up at the office later and apologizes. He’s sorry, she’s a wonderful mom and the kids think so too- isn’t that enough? Wendy personally goes to Janice’s office and basically attacks her by saying she is a worthless low life for taking pleasure in other people’s misery, and being completely confident in her mothering skills. Janice could really care less. Wendy walks out the door, takes a deep breath and wipes a few tears from her eyes- all snapped by the paparazzi. That one is gonna be all over Page Six.
Next week looks tres exciting! Victory gets a new assistant who not to mention is super cute but also highly efficient. The racy affair continues between Kirby and Nico. Things seem like they are getting more serious when he shows up at her door. The war between Janice and Wendy continues and we get to see more of the bitchy Wendy pre-motherhood. I definitely saw “Bitch” written in red lipstick on Janice’s white coat…
