Create a Profile For Your Kid

“One thing that we did was create a profile for my daughter on the computer with a password that we know. This profile has all the links to the software on the family computer removed, and just buttons for a few things she is allowed to use. We did this for two reasons:

1. To avoid her accidentally getting into our files or programs and causing any damage.

2. To ensure that she didn't traverse the Internet herself. Instead, we created shortcuts that went directly to the web pages we approve, like PBSkids.org, miniTFO.org (we're in Canada; this is a French site recommended by a teacher) and Webkinz.” – Lori
