Princess Jasmine

From: The Story of a Princess and Her Hair

Good For These Types: Straight, Wavy, Curly

Good For These Lengths: Short, Medium, Long

Hair Should Be: Damp

What You’ll Need: A ribbon, headband or scarf. Several small elastics (the amount will depend on the length of your hair) and a comb

Difficulty: Medium to Hard

How To Do It:

1. Use a fine tooth comb to make a side part. Then part the hair sideways across the crown, right behind the ears.

2. To create an opening for the ribbon, create a tiny ponytail on either side of the head. Stick your finger through the top of the ponytail to create an opening, twist the tail and then lace it through the top. Thread the ribbon through this hole and then repeat on the other side, so the ribbon wraps over the top of her head. Tie the ribbon underneath her head to lock it in place.

3. Grab the hair that you left in front of her ear and the hair from the mini ponytail and twist them upwards. Repeat on the other side. Then pull the two twists together and secure with a rubber band.

4. Take another small section of hair, add in the first ponytail and secure with a rubber band. Pull the section of hair between the two rubber bands up and out a little bit to create that Jasmine-like puff. Repeat this process until you run out of left-over hair. Once that happens, keep adding rubber bands and puffing up, throughout the rest of the ponytail.
