On the boat, Frank walks with something under his arms. Some tough guy in a “tank top” asks if Frank is ready. He tells him he’ll be up. Frank approaches a woman named Regina. She is guarding Sayid and Desmond. He tells her that the captain wanted him to bring the prisoners food. Sayid wants to know why they are captive. Frank says the captain is upset that they escaped before. Sayid tells him that the door was left open. Sayid asks to talk to the captain, but Frank doesn’t think it’s a good idea.
On the beach, Jin and Sun chat about Sayid and Desmond. They are curious why they aren’t back. Jin then brings up naming the baby, but Sun is superstitious in naming the baby. Jin thinks they will have a girl. Sun wants to get off the island then discuss baby names.
Flash to Sun packing a toiletry bag. The TV is on and Sun continues to pack. She reaches for her phone and calls emergency services (in Korea…unsure of her location…). She tells the operator that she’s pregnant and she thinks something is wrong. Hmmm..I guess we are flashforwarding again.
if I fell…
In the flash, Jin is in a business suit. Does he look older or younger? Not sure. He goes into some toy store and frantically searches for something. They are in Korea. Jin has the clerk help him find a stuffed panda. Jin says he is in a hurry to the hospital. He seems really worried. Not excited, but more frantic.
On the island, Sun wakes Jin up to say Kate and Jack are back. Kate tells Sun and Jin what happened at the Tempest station. Kate doesn’t trust Charlotte or Dan…or even Juliet. She seems cynical. Almost cynical. A side of Kate I don’t like. She makes Sun and Jin suspicious of Dan and Charlotte’s presence. Though who here isn’t suspicious right now? Why can’t they just say what they mean? “We’re here to get Ben. Sure, we’ll take you if we have time and resources. Otherwise, shut up.” But no they seem to want to use them. To what end since they have no contact with Locke?
On the boat, Desmond wakes up to a bright eyed Sayid. Does Sayid sleep or does he get his energy through kicking a** and taking names? While the guys chat some note gets slipped under the door. Sayid goes to open it. He tells Desmond about Ben’s supposed spy…maybe the note is from him? Hmm… The note says not to trust the captain. Mysterious…mysterious. Who is the captain? Someone we’ve seen before? Walt at the age of 35?
On the island, Sun introduces herself to Dan. She stares at him until he asks what she needs. She reveals her pregnancy and then asks if he is there to rescue them. He tells her that it’s not his call whether or not they get rescued. When she asks whose call it is, Dan says nothing. I love how saying nothing is really saying something. Dan you should be better at lying by now. C’mon. You disappoint me.
Jack and Jin eat breakfast, and Jin speaks a bit of English. Jack is impressed. Sun runs over to see Jin. Jack asks how she’s feeling. Jack walks away, and then Sun and Jin communicate in Korean. She asks Jin to get two days worth of food and to pitch a tent away from the camp. Jin asks what’s up and Sun tells him that they are going to Locke’s camp.
all my loving…
Sun goes through Juliet’s stuff, and Juliet discovers her. Sun asks for more prenatal vitamins. Juliet asks why she would need more vitamins…she should still have some left. Sun tells her about her journey to Locke’s camp. Juliet wants Sun to trust her, but Sun says she doesn’t. SNAP! I love Sun being so forward.
Flashforward, Sun is going into labor. The hospital staff takes off her wedding ring. They say they remove all jewelry because of swelling. She doesn’t want to part with it. A doctor walks into the room. Sun wants to know where her regular doctor is. He feels her bump and says the baby is in distress. She repeatedly asks for Jin and just keeps saying his name.
In Korea, Jin grabs a taxi while leaving the toy store. Nothing seems to going right. Someone bumps him and he drops his cell phone. Then the phone gets run over. And he goes back to his cab, but someone has already taken the cab…with the panda in it. He freaks out and goes back to the toy store. He tries to get another panda but the last one is on hold. He throws down a wad of cash and gets the last panda. What is his deal with this toy? What does it matter…the baby will have plenty of toys soon enough!!!
On the beach, Kate draws a map to Locke’s camp for Sun and Jin. They hug and Sun is about to go. Juliet comes to stop them. She tells Jin that Sun is in danger, and when that doesn’t work, she tells Jin about Sun’s affair. He understands that. Darn, if Sun would have never taught him English. Kidding! He seems so distraught...pardon my joke. Sun goes over to Juliet and slaps her across the face. Juliet just takes it. Sun turns to Jin but he just walks away from her.
with a little help from my friends…
Back at the camp, Sun tries to talk to Jin but he won’t even look at her. She starts crying, but he refuses to listen. He unpacks his fishing poles and starts toward the ocean. Bernard runs over and asks to tagalong - not realizing the couple is fighting. As he walks away, Jin says he wants Bernard to come along.
On the boat, Bernard talks about them being the only two married guys on the island. Their decisions are twice as long because they are concerned with someone else. Bernard tells Jin that Rose has cancer. She’s dying, but apparently the island has made her better. Bernard didn’t understand why Rose, who is sick, would want to stay with Jack. Jin asks why they didn’t go with Locke, and Bernard says that Locke is a bad guy. He murdered people. Karma is in effect and things won’t turn out well over there.
On the boat, Sayid and Desmond hear something making a racket. Sayid thinks someone is banging the pipes. Desmond doesn’t understand why. The doctor barges into their room and says the captain wants to see them. They go to the deck. Sayid asks what happened to the helicopter. They say Frank’s running an errand. As Sayid and the doctor discuss the helicopter’s location, Desmond watches Regina walk to the deck with chains around her. Then she jumps into the water. Desmond calls out to stop her. Sayid and him yell at the crew to save her. They don’t understand why they are standing around watching her sink. Suddenly a British guy barges from the upper deck and tells the crew to get back to work. “That it’s an order.” Our captain is revealed and he walks to Sayid and Desmond saying they must have questions for him.
happiness is a warm gun…
The captain asks what Sayid and Desmond want. Sayid says he first wants to know why no one jumped in the water to save Regina. The captain doesn’t want to lose any more people. They are having a bit of cabin fever. He thinks it’s the proximity to the island. And he can’t get away from the island because someone sabotaged his equipment – and we all know this has to be Ben’s inside man. Who else? And Sayid wants to know if they will be saved once the boat is fixed. The captain says no. He will follow orders and just get the boat to a safe location. Orders from who? He reveals his boss is Charles Widmore. Desmond of course is floored!!! I feel as if I read this on a spoiler blog or do we already knew this. Which is it?
The captain takes them to his office. He pulls out a box. He asks if either of them know what it is. Apparently its called the “black box.” And its used for communication. The box is from Oceanic Flight 815. It was retrieved at the bottom of the ocean from the Oceanic Flight 815 wreckage. The same place over 300 bodies were found. His purpose is to find Ben Linus and get answers. Why did he go through this elaborate plan to put all these other people through grief? How did he do it? Where did he get these bodies? And you know what captain, I’m also curious. I’m also curious as to who is Ben’s inside man. You’re so forthcoming…why don’t you tell us? =)
Sun sits on the beach, and Juliet walks over to apologize. She had to stop them anyway she could. Juliet says that Sun needs to get off the island. Sun wants to know why Juliet wants to leave and wants Sun to leave so badly. Juliet says she wants to go home and see her family. Juliet explains all the steps of her death and the death of her baby. That’s why she wants Sun to get off the island. Sun is her patient and she wants to protect her anyway she can.
Flashforward to Sun, the doctor wants to give her a C-section. And she wants to wait for Jin. The baby is crowning so she has to push without Jin there. She thinks she sees him in the hallway, but its another guy in a suit. Soon she must give birth…not her choice any longer. The baby comes out crying. So the baby is okay…yay! She gave birth to a girl. Sun cries with excitement over her new precious child.
At night on the boat, the doctor, Sayid and Desmond go to their new digs. No more sickbay for our boys. The doctor asks what they think of the captain. Sayid says he’s surprisingly upfront. The doctor says yeah, but not to piss him off. Then they go to their room and there are bugs crawling on the floor and a bloodstain on the wall. Some guy in the shadows is mopping. The doctor calls out, “Kevin.” Kevin tries to go finish his other tasks on the deck, but the doctor says before he can do his other chores he must clean up the bloody mess. But guess who Kevin really is? Oh yes, it’s Michael. WTF!!! Michael…our spy for Ben? Oh I think so! Sayid and Desmond introduce themselves as if they have never seen Michael before so the doctor doesn’t get suspicious. But Sayid’s knowing eyes and tone say otherwise. YES! YES! I love when they bring back characters. It’s always a disappointment in mystery movies when it is someone you have never seen before and they end up being the killer. (i.e. Jason Vorhee’s mom in Friday the 13th. Sorry to ruin that tidbit, but if you’ve never seen it…then you probably won’t anytime soon)!
all you need is love…
On the island, Sun makes her bed in the tent. Jin brings her dinner. Sun thought he had left her. She tries to explain the affiar, but he says it doesn’t matter. He knows the man he used to be. He said before the island, he withheld his affections. And he says that the man she was with caused them to get on the island and he is happy with that. Then he says, “I forgive you.” He tells her that he will go with her to Locke’s camp. Sun says she changed her mind. Juliet convinced her to do whatever it takes to get off the island. And Jin says he is there to support her. But he needs to know one thing: is the baby his? We all know the answer to that. Yes. Yay! I love Jin and Sun!!! Jin says he’ll never leave her…wait, I feel foreshadowing coming on. Please let me be wrong. Not a good feeling in the pit of my stomach.
Flashforward (or back…or whatever) Jin comes running into the hospital. Panda under his arms. But he’s not seeing Sun. He has gone to see the ambassador of china because the ambassador is now a grandfather. A proud grandfather of a baby boy. Boy? Sun had a girl. There is something wrong here.
Jin is younger. I questioned that earlier. Ha ha. He didn’t look like he aged at all. Where Sun looks more mature. As Jin leaves the hospital, he says he has only been married two months. We are watching Sun and Jin on two different plains (spelling of plains…questionable).
Now Sun is not pregnant and getting dressed up. She goes to the door and Hurley is there. He asks if anyone else is coming. And Sun says no. They are dressed to the nines. Opera? Hurley goes over to see the baby. As Hurley holds the baby, he says she looks just like Jin. And Sun agrees.
Hurley says they should go see Jin and Sun says, “Of course.”
Naturally they are going to Jin’s grave. So sad. She kneels down with the baby and tells his headstone that he was right. They had a girl. She talks about her delivery and how she was calling out for him. She wishes he could have been there. Then she tells him that she named her exactly what he wanted. Then she says how much she misses him. She cries and holds the baby next to her. (A writer sheds a few tears…sorry guys…its sad).
final thoughts…
Well now we have our 6…don’t we? 1) Jack; 2) Hurley; 3)Sayid; 4)Kate; 5) Sun…is the 6th Aaron? Was Marty right? Am I missing someone else? Thoughts people!!! Your dedicated blogger is drawing a blank. I think that’s all we’ve seen. So it has to be Aaron. And the big twist…Michael being back. Our inside man. How is he communicating with Ben? Satellite phones? Not really thrilled with this episode but I do appreciate the answers that are coming. But all the postings last week, it made me think. Mr. Ecko. What does his brother and the drug plane and he have to do with this? I am trying to connect him into what we are learning because I totally forgot about that side story. And do you guys think we’ll see anymore characters who have “left the show?” Great posts last week guys. I read them all and enjoyed each!!! Keep it up!!!
