If Lost fans had to pick one cast member to be stranded on an island with, we know plenty of women who would choose Josh Holloway. Holloway played Sawyer, the con man with a heart of gold and abs of steel. He was one of the show's most compelling actors, but aside from some sexy cologne ads, Holloway hasn't done too much outside of Lost. So we're pretty excited that to learn that he's stepping back in front of the camera -- and this time, he'll be on the big screen!
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Holloway, 41, has been cast in a major role in the upcoming Mission: Impossible 4. The Lost actor will play a member of Tom Cruise's secret agent task force, which also includes Academy Award nominee Jeremy Renner. (We're guessing that Lost creator J.J. Abrams had a hand in the casting, as he's one of the film's producers.) It's a pretty great gig, especially since Cruise is rumored to be exiting the series soon -- meaning if Holloway plays his cards right, he could be up for a promotion in MI: 5!
Holloway was one of many Lost actors who basically put the rest of their career on hold during the series, since they were required to be on location in Hawaii at all times. Other castaways who've found exciting new jobs include Daniel Dae Kim (Jin on Lost, star of the new Hawaii Five-0), Maggie Grace (Shannon on Lost, just cast in Twilight: Breaking Dawn), and Michael Emerson and Terry O'Quinn (Ben and Locke on Lost, both starring in an upcoming TV pilot about secret agents).
