What is Loving Touch Therapy?
Loving Touch for Animals is a gentle and effective way to help keep your pet energetic, pain-free and healthy throughout its life.
Stress is a part of our daily lives as well as a part of our pets' lives. Studies have shown that excessive stress can contribute to a weakened immune system and an increased susceptibility to disease. Research has proven that touch therapy is effective at fighting many types of illnesses and helps to boost the immune systems' ability to fight off disease.
Loving Touch for Animals is an intuitive, heart-based healing modality, designed to assist in reawakening the body's innate healing abilities. It is a method of gently tuning into the animals energy system in order to prevent a build-up of stress through therapeutic touch, massage and Reiki (a Japanese technique of hands-on energetic healing).
How does Loving Touch work?
With Loving Touch therapy I am able to feel and notice what the animal is experiencing through observation of their sensitivities and reactions to areas that are touched. The animal and I work as a team. Together we explore tight or traumatized areas, release those blockages and help re-establish a pattern of health in their body. Loving Touch for Animals also works to prevent those blockages from progressing to illness by allowing one to become aware of the subtle tightening in an animals' body and helping it to re-establish the natural flow of energy.
I find that many people are skeptical of hands-on work because it deals with a system much larger than most of us can comprehend. In our scientific world, for something to be valid we must be able to, first, control it and, second, prove it. If we cannot see it, touch it, taste it or smell it, it must not exist. I have found energetic work to go far beyond that picture. It's hard to give you a scientific explanation for something that must be felt.
We are aware that we have a physical body. This physical body has a scientific way of explaining the physical processes that take place inside -- how we physically digest food, how our blood is physically pumped through our bodies, how cancer physically forms. The Chinese and many other Eastern cultures believe that there is another system, our energy system, that underlies our physical system. This is my understanding of how our energy system works, as explained to me by my teacher, Dr. Nan Lu founder of the Traditional Chinese Medicine World Foundation.
Think of the energy in your body like this ...
Imagine looking at a map of the New York City subway system. A similar map of the inside your body, underlying your physical system, will represent your energetic body. There are many tunnels and routes for the trains (the energy) to take; they all connect somewhere along the line, and all are important and work together to make up the entire system. Your energy flows through the tunnels of this system freely and on schedule, until one train gets stuck in a tunnel, causing the entire system to reroute itself to prevent a complete breakdown.
If the system is healthy, that will not cause a serious backup; however, it is the first signal that something is happening on a deeper level, and it needs to be paid attention.
If ignored or not properly identified and corrected, the physical symptom will produce itself again and again. Each time this happens it weakens the strength of the entire system, eventually breaking it down more rapidly.
It is the same for animals as for humans. Animals are more sensitive to energetic changes since they are always living in the moment, experiencing subtle sensations as they are occurring. Our human speech and ability to think and plan ahead actually inhibits our ability to connect with ourselves on that subtle level, but the good news is that we can relearn and reawaken this awareness that we have had since birth.
I have had the opportunity to use this work in the most beneficial ways with animal cases involving arthritis, hip displaysia, knee injuries, herniated discs, confidence problems, kidney-related disorders, fear biting, aggression, excess weight, hyperactivity, separation anxiety, nervous urination, broken bones, liver disorders, abuse, allergies and emotional traumas.
Loving Touch has helped me find great success in helping animals and their people to re-establish health and well-being.
