Every once in a while a TV commercial really hits the nail on the head -- and makes me spit out my iced coffee and laugh in agreement. The latest to make a mess of my morning beverage is all about the over-prepared and over-anxious nature of being a first-time mom compared with the more been-there-done-that ease of second-timers. While each of the four ads, courtesy of the diaper folks Luvs, are dead-on in their humor, there's one that's caught quite the buzz. It, of course, is about breastfeeding. (Watch it below.)

While the stressed out first-time mom anxiously tries to breastfeed under a slipping coverup as she sits behind a plant in a restaurant, the same mom, a few years later, has her boob out at the restaurant, nursing her new baby girl. "Hey, up here," the moms says, directing the gawking waiter to look in her eyes. "She's already ordered." The kicker: Older son gives waiter the death stare.

I love this ad. (Public breastfeeding portrayed as totally normal: Woot!) Not shockingly, some don't. The comments on the Luvs blog include remarks like, "Not an appropriate commercial. Very offensive" and "Luvs should stick to selling diapers and stay out of the politics! I found the ad tasteless and crude."

Is breastfeeding politics? I thought it was a way to feed our kids? Either way, I'm excited that Luvs found a funny and true-to-life way to spread the it's-okay-to-nurse-in-public message. If that's their way to sell diapers, that's fine by me.
