Lynne Spears Talks About the "Ugly Side of Fame"
Lynne Spears is on the road, promoting her Britney tell-all, Through the Storm, and the mom of opened up to Today's Meredith Vieira about how she lost control of her girl.
Lynne admits that she really had no clue how to handle Britney's fame. "We had no one who could tell us what we were supposed to be doing." The pop star's mom said that, although they were first taken in by the excitement of celebrity, her family quickly learned there was much more that came with all the good.
"There was that honeymoon period where it looked like she could do no wrong," Lynne said. "Then there's that ugly side of fame ... and we weren't ready for that."
