Madonna Gets Booed After Concert in Paris

Hot off the heels of a recent French scandal, the Material Girl angers fans after an intimiate show in Paris lasts only 45 minutes

Madonna isn't making many friends in France these days.

Hot off her most recent French scandal that could result in her being sued, Madge angered fans who came to attend her intimate show at L'Olympia club in Paris on Thursday. What was supposed to be a lesson in tolerance and a special treat to members of her fan club resulted in the Queen of Pop being booed off the stage when her concert ended after only 45 minutes.

Videos from the event show fans crying "refund!" and "salope" (the French word for "slut"), and fans started tweeting their complaints under the hashtag #MDNAParis. The concert was being streamed live on YouTube, but the backlash was so strong that the YouTube channel had to disable comments and the video has clocked in over 12,000 dislikes versus its 10,000 likes, The Associated Press reports.

Rebroadcasts of the performance end when Madonna walks off the stage and don't allow current watchers to see how angry the short set made fans.

It doesn't help that Madge is already in hot water in France right now. This performance was a response to the controversy she created by having a swastika show up on the face of French National Front leader Marine Le Pen. Madge first showed the video in Tel Aviv but, not learning her lesson the first time, she pulled the same stunt during a Bastille Day concert in Paris. Now reports have come out saying Le Pen is planning to sue.

"I've heard that a certain Marine Le Pen was upset with me," Madonna told the crowd during Thursday night's show. "It's not my intention to make enemies ... It's my intention to promote tolerance. And when we start saying that we have to get rid of this person or we have to get rid of that person, because then we'll have a better place, it starts to sound like something else, it starts to sound like something scary. So the next time you want to point the finger at somebody and blame them for a problem in your life, take that finger and point it back at you."

Well, she only has herself to blame for this one. The L'Olympia show was tacked on to her tour at the last minute in response to the controversial Bastille Day performance, but fans weren't pleased by how they were treated.

"280? for a seat + 10 minutes of a speech + 40 minutes of a show + 2 days of camping in front of the #Olympia = #Madonna #MDNA #Paris #thatsucks," one fan tweeted in French, according to MTV News.

Hopefully Madonna doesn't try to remedy this conflict by another performance in France. In fact, we'd recommend she steers clear of the country for a while until things cool down.
