It's hard to believe that Madonna, the wild child of the '80s, is now the mother of a teenager. But as of Wednesday, the pop queen's oldest daughter, 13-year-old Lourdes Maria Ciccone Leon, is officially a high school student.
The New York Daily News reports that Leon started this week at New York City's LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts (or, as its known, the Fame school).
While Leon may not be your average freshman (she does, after all, run the Macy's clothing line Material Girl Collection with her mom, as well as her own fashion blog!), she seems to have made a good impression on her classmates.
Leon, whose first-day garb was "ankle-high leather boots, a black skirt and a plaid sleeveless shirt over a white T-shirt," also chatted with friends and clutched her cell phone. Yep, sounds like a 13-year-old to us!
It seems Madonna, 52, didn't want to be an overbearing mom, as she wasn't spotted at the school. And, though Leon's classmates are clearly aware of her famous family, they're trying not to bombard her. "I don't want to be like, 'Your mom's a celebrity," a student said. "But if the occasion arises, I'd definitely talk to her."
