H is for haunted house, and Halloween can be for learning, with this creative project to help children learn their letters. Making a themed alphabet book that associates halloween-related words with each of the 26 letters is a wonderful weekend activity. Plus, it can totally justify to darling husband why you've been hoarding all those magazines (he calls 'em clutter.)
For ages four and up
Indoors
Materials Needed:
- Old magazines/catalogs
- Scissors

What to do:
Sit down with your children and write each letter of the alphabet down on a separate piece of paper. Next to each letter, write down Halloween related words (see below for ideas).
