Meet the 5-Year-Old Superhero Who Is About to Save San Francisco

Four hundred volunteers will help fulfill a little boy's dream to become Batkid, thanks to the Make-a-Wish Foundation

When asked his biggest dream by the Make-a-Wish Foundation, 5-year-old Miles, who has leukemia, skipped the usual “meet a rock star” or “go to Disney.”

Instead, he went big: He wants to be Batkid.

And today, the city of San Francisco, along with four hundred volunteers, is going to make it happen.

According to Make-a-Wish, Superhero Miles will rescue a damsel in distress, capture a villain, break for lunch (hey, superheroes have to eat, too), ride in a car chase, and end up at City Hall where San Francisco’s Mayor and Chief of Police will thank him by presenting him with the key to the city!

Anyone in the San Francisco area is welcome to join in the fun, watching the flashmob that will warn Miles of the escaping villian or celebrating with the mayor at City Hall. Get the details at Make-a-Wish -- once you stop crying, that is.
