The Bride of Frankenstein never looked so delicious! The whole Frankenstein family gets a sweet makeover with a handful of marshmallows and some cookies. This is the perfect place to use storebought tubes of decorator icing and coloring. We used a tube of chocolate cupcake icing, and some black and red decorator gel. The family’s base makeup comes from mixing a tablespoon or two of water green food coloring – simply paint it on with a kitchen brush. Assemble the ingredients and your children, and stand back.
|2 tablespoons cold water mixed with 2 to 3 drops green food coloring||Chocolate decorator icing|
|1 marshmallow (use mini mallows for the baby)||Pretzel sticks|
|1 to 2 chocolate sandwich cookies (such as Oreos; use mini Oreos for the baby monster)||Black and red decorator gel|
|White decorator icing|
Use a pastry brush to paint the outside of the marshmallow green. Don’t overwet it. Let it dry for a few minutes while you separate sandwich cookies and scrape out the filling.
Use a dab of icing to stick the uncoupled sandwich cookies to the marshmallow’s top and bottom. If making the Bride, use streaks of white icing on a third cookie half to make her famous hair.
Stick in the broken ends of pretzel sticks to make the bolts in the next and pipe on hair and facial features as desired with the icing and gel.
