chime in nowWhy we love it: Show off your favorite travel photos by crafting frames from maps and road atlases. They make a wonderful memento to commemorate a family vacay, a girls’ trip or even just a weekend drive.
What you need: Vintage or new maps and atlases; wooden frames; scissors; paintbrush; Mod Podge; and a travel photo.
How to make it: Find a section of your map featuring the region you want to highlight. Trim section, leaving about an inch margin on all sides. Using a paintbrush, apply Mod Podge to the frame and underside of the map pieces. Fold and smooth the map around the frame, making sure to cut the paper at an angle in the corners so they fold neatly. Then apply another layer of Mod Podge to the top layer to give the maps a nice patina. Insert photo in frame and display or give as a gift.
