They've been separated for months, but now it's officially the end of the road for Marc Anthony and Jennifer Lopez. Anthony, 43, filed for divorce in Los Angeles Superior Court on Monday, TMZ reports.
In the divorce papers, Anthony seeks joint legal and physical custody of their two children: 4-year-old twins Max and Emme. The singer-producer also asks that he and J.Lo pay for their own legal fees.
The exes announced their split in July 2011, but Anthony did not list a date of separation in the filing papers.
Although a source told Us Weekly that Anthony "hit the roof" when photos surfaced of the twins bonding with Lopez's beau, dancer Casper Smart, last Thanksgiving, the exes have managed to put aside their personal differences to work together on their Spanish-language reality talent show, Q'VIVA! The Chosen.
The former spouses will sing a duet on the Q'VIVA! live stage show debut May 26 at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas.
"Q'VIVA! has been an incredible journey for us. It fulfilled our vision to share and celebrate the people, the culture, the music and artistry of Latin America though this global broadcast," Lopez told Us in a statement. "And now, Q'VIVA! the LIVE show will be the culmination of that journey."
And despite Anthony's qualms about Smart, Lopez -- who recently bought her boyfriend a tricked-out truck for his birthday -- is quite smitten with her younger man.
"He's adorable. But you already see that," she recently told Vogue. "He really is [sweet]. He's a good egg. I don't want to talk about it too much. It's my private thing."
Anthony has also moved on -- with Venezuelan model Shannon de Lima, whom he began dating in January. She accompanied Anthony at the ASCAP Founders Awards in late March. "Everyone had a beautiful night," his rep told Us at the time. "It was special for Marc."
