Talk about a slam dunk! Tennis pro Maria Sharapova has accepted a proposal -- and a giant rock! -- from L.A. Lakers star Sasha Vujacic.
According to UsMagazine.com, a beaming Sharapova stepped out Monday showing off a cushion-cut diamond of approximately 7 to 8 carats, set on a thick, split-shank platinum band.
"This ring makes a statement. It's no wonder why Maria is smiling in the photos!" jewelry expert Michael O'Connor said. He estimates the price tag of the bauble to be a cool $250,000.
Sharapova and Vujacic first began dating in 2009, and the 26-year-old basketball player proposed last week at his home in Manhattan Beach, Calif.
Earlier this year the athlete said that he and the tennis star, 23, have "helped each other" become better at their respective sports. "We both understand what the other is doing and going through, and what it takes to do well in what we do."
