It's finally official! After months of rumors, Fox confirmed late Tuesday that Mario Lopez and Khloe Kardashian have indeed signed on to cohost The X Factor.
"The worst kept secret in Hollywood is out," show creator and judge Simon Cowell said in statement. "Mario and Khloé are our hosts. They will debut on our first live show in November and I couldn't be happier."
The two new hosts also shared their excitement in a statement. "I'm so thrilled to become a part of the X Factor family," Khloe said. "I've been a big fan of the show and look forward to working with Simon and all of the judges. It's going to be so much fun!"
And Lopez agrees. "I'm very excited to be joining the X Factor team," he said. "I love the show, and I've been a big fan of Simon Cowell and the judges for a long time. Khloé and I have been friends for years and I know we'll be a great team and have a blast."
The official announcement came just a few hours after iVillage sat down with Mario Lopez on Oct. 16. Unfortunately, the handsome Extra host wasn't allowed to talk about his new gig yet -- but that didn't stop us from asking!
"We're big fans of the show," he told iVillage. "We watch it every week. I think they did some great changes this year -- I like the documentary style at the beginning. It's appointment viewing in the Lopez house...We'll wait and see."
The pre-recorded auditions at the judges' homes will end on Oct. 17, and then the show will take some time off for the World Series. It will return with the first live show on Nov. 1, when Mario and Khloe will take the stage for the first time!
