You’re busy -- we get that -- and we know you already feel guilty for not keeping the baby book up to date. (Join the club.) But keeping track of all baby’s amazing milestones can be way more creative than logging something in a book. We tapped the incredible brains of our favorite mommy bloggers to bring you 12 amazing projects to commemorate a new baby, a kid’s birthday or a family milestone. The best part? You can make them with stuff already lying around the house.

Say cheese, baby! Mark your baby’s milestones with these photo-booth bookmarks. They make great gifts and it’s super easy to make a ton to pass out to friends and family. (Urban Comfort)

What you'll need: Photos of your baby; colored card stock; glue or double-sided tape; ribbon; lamination machine; scissors; hole puncher; camera; ruler; and a computer.

Directions: Take a few digital snapshots of your baby. Upload on the computer, then place three photos into a Microsoft Word document, sizing them all to 1 ¾ x 2 inches. Stack them on top of one another. Print the photo strip and cut along the edges, leaving a thin white border. Cut a strip of colored cardstock measuring 2 ¼ x 6 ¾ inches. Mount the photo strip onto the cardstock, using either glue or double-sided tape. Next, laminate so it won’t show wear and tear once it sees the depths of your diaper bag. Finally, punch a small hole at the top of the bookmark and thread a length of ribbon through it.
