In what will surely (maybe) come to be remembered as one of the biggest star-studded showdowns in Twitter history (whatever that means), Martha Stewart found herself in a slight altercation yesterday with uber-company Apple.
The conversation started innocently enough when Stewart dropped her iPad and cracked the glass. Been there.
I just dropped my iPad on the ground and shattered two glass corners. What to do?does one call Apple to come and pick it up or do I take it?— Martha Stewart (@MarthaStewart) September 25, 2013
Next came the flurry of tweets from concerned citizens:
@MarthaStewart You get a new one. It's a good thing.— Daniel Wright (@DanSWright) September 25, 2013
@MarthaStewart you take it to the store and they replace it. Are you under apple care?— sassyradish (@sassyradish) September 25, 2013
Though apparently Stewart found none of these helpful as two hours later she tweeted the following:
I am still waiting for an apple rep to come pick up my IPad. No action yey— Martha Stewart (@MarthaStewart) September 26, 2013
And then 5 hours later, when apparently nothing had changed, Stewart had one of her patent-pending brilliant ideas:
Maybe I have had a good entrepreneurial idea? Apple Now? Like same day delivery from Amazon? I think I am on to something. Same day fixit!!!— Martha Stewart (@MarthaStewart) September 26, 2013
This is, apparently, when Apple stepped in and contacted Stewart about the tweets she was sending to her nearly 3 million followers:
i cannot believe that Apple Public Relations is mad at me for tweeting about my Ipad and how to get it fixed! steve jobs gave it to me!— Martha Stewart (@MarthaStewart) September 27, 2013
Nice name drop Martha. We see what you did there.
Though she also downplayed the entire ordeal...
So is it time to put out the fires and admit I was just pissed off at the fact my precious ipad shattered and I wanted to make light of it??— Martha Stewart (@MarthaStewart) September 26, 2013
...the Internet, naturally, had some opinions on the matter:
Too much money, not enough sense. “@MarthaStewart: i can't believe Apple is mad at me for tweeting abt my Ipad! steve jobs gave it to me!”
