Martha Stewart had a big win (likely the silver lining to a dark cloud of a month) today at the Westminster Dog Show, of all places. Her puffalicious Chow Chow Ghenghis Khan took home the best in breed ribbon at the fancy pup contest in New York City -- a win that is sure to go beyond the world of competitive canines and boost Stewart's pet product sales.
While it's not surprising that Stewart, 70, breeds and trains her pups perfectly (she is Martha Stewart after all!), it is surprising is that she treated Ghenghis Kahn to dinner and an overnight stay at the Plaza Hotel the night before the competition. That's right. Martha, her dog and a friend received white table cloth service and sat in chairs in the Plaza dining room to get amped up for the big contest. (Do yourself a favor: Click here to see the hilarious trio dining together!)
The dog, it should be noted, is not Stewart's original Ghenghis Kahn, who was sadly one of 17 dogs killed in a Pennsylvania kennel explosion in 2009. Genghis Kahn II beat out three other dogs in order to win the coveted best in breed ribbon.
