Matthew Fox has found many fans over the course of his career, but his former Lost costar Dominic Monaghan does not appear to be one of them. During a Twitter exchange with fans on May 27, Monaghan leveled a pretty serious allegation against Fox: "He beats women."
It all went down when a fan named @omggbeccaa tweeted at Monaghan and said, "holla at matthew fox and tell him to get a twitter i beg of you."
Monaghan, 35, replied curtly, "he beats women. No thanks."
The fan was clearly taken aback and asked Monaghan why he disliked Fox after "all those good times you had together."
Dominic replied, "how do you know we ever did [have good times together]? you don't know either of us.he beats women. not isolated incidents. often. not interested."
When called out on that "accusation," Monaghan clarified his position. "an accusation is when you "claim" someone did something wrong. i know," he tweeted. "but hey little fan girl maybe [you] want to get slapped around by him? Daddy issues? Blinded by the nice haircut? It's never okay. Maybe you have lower standards."
When it was suggested that Fox, 45, could sue Monaghan for libel, Dominic shot back, "it's very difficult to sue someone for speaking the truth. Have you received an education dear?"
Despite Monaghan's insistence that he's "speaking the truth," it should be noted that he hasn't offered up any proof -- so at this point his statements are merely accusations.
In fact, the only woman who has ever publicly accused the Fox of hitting her is an Ohio bus driver who sued the actor for physical assault stemming from an incident late last August. The driver claimed that Fox "punched her in the chest and stomach area" after she denied him access to her bus. Fox was detained but not arrested, and later countersued her after her attempt to press criminal charges was dismissed.
With a recent arrest for DUI also under his belt, Matthew Fox's offscreen life is starting to sound as head-scratching as some of the mysteries on Lost.
