Eventually, every classic is bound to undergo a makeover, and lately it's the fast food market that seems eager to reinvent its well-established favorites -- and to see what fans think.
McDonald’s is testing three new versions of its Quarter Pounder: the Bacon Habanero Ranch, the Deluxe and the Bacon & Cheese Quarter Pounder. Mmm...bacon.
The new editions, as well as the original, will be available at San Antonio-area restaurants for folks down in Texas to get the first taste, according to the San Antonio Business Journal.
The Bacon Habanero Ranch burger includes white cheddar, thick-cut applewood-smoked bacon, habanero ranch sauce and a toasted bun. The Quarter Pounder Deluxe is like the brand's old Angus Deluxe, with American cheese, lettuce, tomato, red onion, pickles, mayo and mustard. And the Quarter Pounder Bacon and Cheese adds bacon to the mix, according to Brand Eating. Did we mention the bacon?
(And if you were wondering, the calorie counts all fall within the 540 to 610 range.)
Of course, an excellent burger is an extremely personal matter of taste, that everyone has an opinion about.
We want to hear from you in the comments: Do any of McDonald's new burgers sound good to you -- or if not, how do you like your burgers best?
