McKayla Maroney at last looks impressed! The Olympic gymnast, 16, has shared a photo of herself post surgery, and she looks remarkably rested and relieved.
"I'M ALIVE!!!! hahaha just kidding..(; I just woke up from my surgery a little bit ago and was told it was successful!! #ThumbsUp #ThankGod," the world renowned vaulter posted on Twitter Thursday with an Instagram photo of her wearing a hospital gown and giving the camera a thumbs up.
A post on her Facebook fan page confirmed that Maroney will probably miss the next few stops on Kellogg's Tour of Gymnastics Champions.
"McKayla had surgery today and It was successful! McKayla may not be in the next stops due to injury (recovery) but the show must go on! Watch the preview! San Diego, You ready"
Although the two-time Olympic medalist didn't elaborate about what the surgery was for, she reportedly fractured her left tibia after a shaky dismount from the uneven bars last Sunday in Ontario, Calif.
Regardless of why she had the surgery, there's no denying Maroney looks lovely -- just ask her fellow Fierce Five teammate Aly Raisman.
"@McKaylaMaroney I think your the only person who can look absolutely gorgeous after her surgery... So glad everything went well. Loveyou!!!" twittered Raisman, who also got hurt on the uneven bars over the weekend.
