Name: Brenda Sinclair
Occupation: disabled housewife
Family situation: Married with no children. (we are trying though)
Organizational state: Very disorganized but we're getting better since the challenge.
Biggest obstacle to getting organized: I am so slow since I had my stroke. In the old days it was nothing to do my chores/activities in a speedy fashion. And being married to a slob doesn't help.
Challenge goal: I want a more streamlined home to make my household duties easier and to get our home ready for that child we are wanting.
Other fun facts: I love to do anything crafty, such as decorative painting (I have an art background). I am researching my family history and have a family website (I have found so many living distant cousins lately and am having fun with that). I have 2 brothers and 2 sisters that I am very close to, Both parents are still living. Family is very important to me as are my friends. I have met some online buddies here on ivillage that give me support and are interested in the same things I am.
I have an Associates Degree in Business Management -- one of the fields I worked in before I got sick. I worked from the time I was 11 in various jobs: I was a waitress, a groundskeeper, dental assistant/secretary, bookkeeper, assistant manager at a popular pizza business, manager of a convenience store, and my last job was saleswoman/secretary. I did part time work between jobs.
I have been president of my various clubs. One of my mentors was my art teacher whom I had classes under for my entire school years from K-12. He taught me to paint, draw and do leatherwork, all of which I do to this day.
I am 34 years old soon to turn 35 (in April) and my husband is 37. We met in 1989 in my hometown, Princeton, Missouri, the birthplace of Calamity Jane aka Martha Jane Canary; we have a celebration every September that includes a beauty pagent, trail ride, etc. My hubby was visiting his grandfather & I met him the first night he was in town (he lived in Tuscon at the time) and we've been together ever since. We just celebrated our 10 year anniversary last October.
