Tina Fey once joked that she can't watch The Real Housewives of Orange County because she "literally can't tell the women apart." Maybe she should give it another shot -- because finally, there's a cast member who's not a bleached blonde! Bravo has officially announced that its newest OC housewife will be Heather Dubrow, a 42-year-old stay-at-home mom, sometimes-actress and certified brunette. Watch her introduction video below!
So what do we know about Heather? First of all, she's married to plastic surgeon Terry Dubrow, who's no stranger to reality TV himself (he's been a resident doctor on FOX's The Swan and E!'s Bridalplasty). They have four kids together, the oldest being 8-year-old twins, the youngest an 11-month-old "surprise" baby. Because of her kids, Heather has taken a long break from her TV career, which has included lead roles in the CBS drama That's Life (2000-02, costarring Paul Sorvino and Ellen Burstyn) and the NBC sitcom Stark Raving Mad (1999-2000, costarring Tony Shalhoub and Neil Patrick Harris).
"My husband andI are very down-to-earth people," Dubrow tells Bravo. "We're not defined by where we live and what we have."
Um, sounds like she should fit right in?
Meanwhile, elsewhere in Orange County, Vicki Gunvalson is jumping into a new relationship with boyfriend Brooks Ayers while she's still mid-divorce. There are new careers: Alexis Bellino has become a correspondent for a local morning news show, while Gretchen Rossi is performing with the Las Vegas Pussycat Dolls. Tamra Barney will also be returning for season 7, but Peggy Tanous will not (she has declared that "the atmosphere was just too toxic.").
So how did the RHOOC veterans take to their new castmate?
"The first party, we were pretty hard on her," Gretchen Rossi recently told Us Weekly. "At first I didn't like her, but now I really like her... She's blunt and very straightforward, yet she has a very classic and sophisticated appeal to her. I think the audience is really going to like her."
You can decide for yourself when the seventh season premieres on Bravo Feb. 7.
