Meet Your 2011 Color of the Year: Honeysuckle

In 2011, think pink. That's the word from Pantone, which has announced "Honeysuckle," a reddish pink hue, as its 2011 Color of the Year. Honeysuckle (Pantone 18-2120) displaces Turquoise, which was 2010's anointed color.

In a press release, Pantone praised Honeysuckle as "a brave new color for a brave new world." Apparently, not only will Honeysuckle look good on our walls, it will also impart the confidence we need to "meet life's ongoing challenges." Hm.

Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute, further explained: "In times of stress, we need something to lift our spirits. Honeysuckle is a captivating, stimulating color that gets the adrenaline going – perfect to ward off the blues."

Personally, I'm feeling emerald green these days. Honeysuckle may be a brave new color, but it's not doing it for me. What do you think?

Do you like Honeysuckle? Or did Pantone get it wrong this year? Chime in below!
