Celebrities are always rumored to be going on extreme diets, but in a new cover story for June's Allure magazine, did Transformers star Megan Fox casually mention that she can go days without food? "I'll starve to death before I'll cook for myself. I think I could survive a week without eating," says the 24-year-old actress.
Um... yay for her? To be fair, Fox was discussing an aversion to cooking, and we also know the outspoken actress has a tendency to make shocking statements just for the hell of it. In the same Allure interview, she says that she won't use restaurant silverware because of her germophobia, that she'd like to cause "physical harm" to paparazzi, and that she'd be happy to spend weeks without talking to another human being. In the past, she's mouthed off to interviewers about things like her teenage lesbian stripper affair (which turned out to be completely fabricated). But still -- many actresses literally starve themselves to look slim on camera, so is Fox overly blasé, to be laughing about not eating? We're reminded of Gwyneth Paltrow's scary Iron Man 2 diet (printed in a recent issue of GOOP) which contains astonishingly few calories -- most from kale. And don't even get us started on the insane baby food diet.
For the record, the Allure Web site notes that Fox did eat lunch on set -- salad, chicken and green tea. The star also says she enjoys preparing meals for boyfriend Brain Austin Green's 8-year-old son. C'mon, Megan, turn on the Food Network and cook yourself up a tasty meal once in a while! Learning to prepare and enjoy fine cuisine is nothing to be afraid of!
Fox's next film, the dark Western Jonah Hex, opens June 18.
