Megan Mullally Is Her Husband's Ex?

Well, she is for tonight, anyway, on Parks and Recreation.

Back when Will and Grace was on the air, some fans (OK, me) took to calling the show Jack and Karen. Because really, it was Sean Hayes and Megan Mullally who brought the funny. Especially Mullally. (Even her name is funny. Try saying it three times fast. See what I mean?)

Mullally is guest-starring on Parks and Recreation tonight. (It's not really a surprising casting coup, considering she's married to Nick Offerman, who plays Ron.) She'll do her crazy-funny thing as Ron's off-the-wall ex, Tammy. ("We're oil and water," says Ron. "We're oil and C4 and detonator and a butane torch.") Tammy is a fellow civil servant, but in Pawnee's library department -- which Leslie (Amy Poehler) describes as "like a biker gang, but instead of shotguns and crystal meth, they use political savvy and shhhsh-ing."

Here's a tiny taste: In the course of one scene in a diner, Tammy and Ron will fluctuate between polite conversation, a code-red screaming match, and boisterous sex on the table. "I had to work out fake kissing to do, because we don't really kiss like that in real life," says Mullally. "The real way we kiss will remain secret, and it's pretty crazy. You think this is wild, you should see how we do it at home." Good to know.

Speaking of wild, 30 Rock's got its own stunt casting going on tonight, as usual. This time, it's Brian Williams playing Brian Williams. Does that make you respect him less as a serious professional journalist? The question has crossed his mind.

"The biggest worry I have is that a 20-year viewer of NBC Nightly News is going to tune into 30 Rock and say, now what the heck is he doing?" says Williams. "It's like somebody wandering into the sandbox. And I hope people understand that a couple of months from now I'll be back in Afghanistan getting shot at. And tonight, this very night I'll be in the chair, doing the newscast. But you gotta mix it up a little."

What qualifies as "mixing it up" tonight? Doing his best Sopranos mob guy impression.
