Mel B Calls Eddie Murphy Relationship Water Under the Bridge

Former Spice Girl and current Dance Your Ass Off host Mel B. (whose real name is Melanie Brown) says things are now "really cool" with ex-boyfriend Eddie Murphy, the father of her 3-year-old daughter Angel.

When she was born in 2007, Murphy had questioned whether he was the little girl's father but a paternity test proved otherwise. And in February, Brown told reporters that Murphy still had no involvement in their daughter's life: "I have full custody of Angel, and that’s about it," she said. "He doesn’t want to see her."

But now, according to Brown, things have moved in a more positive direction. While chatting with E! host Catt Sadler on her show The Daily 10, 35-year-old Brown said the once-rocky relationship with Murphy, 49, is now "water under the bridge." Murphy met his daughter for the first time at her third birthday party in early May (a reconciliation reportedly encouraged by Murphy's ex-wife Nicole Mitchell, who wanted her five children to grow up knowing their half-sister).

And Brown (who's now married to producer Stephen Belafonte) talked to E! about attending the L.A. premiere of Shrek Forever After in May, which she also attended with 11-year-old daughter Phoenix Chi (from her marriage to dancer Jim Gulzar). "We all went there and it was very supportive," said Brown. "It was great family fun."
