Mel Gibson has just wrapped a movie called How I Spent My Summer Vacation, but it turns out, for the actor-director, his real-life one could be spent in court hearings.
While Gibson's rep made no comment and the case is sealed (no documents can be released to the public), it is reported that he has "filed a temporary restraining order, a notice about a forthcoming court hearing and a notice of visitation rights and child custody."
To make matters even more complicated, TMZ.com reports that the Russian-born singer, 40, is alleging abuse by her Oscar-winning ex. The site claims that it's Grigorieva who got a domestic violence restraining order against Gibson and that Gibson's restraining order was only with respect to prohibiting her from releasing certain information.
According to TMZ, Grigorieva's lawyers went to the family law court in downtown L.A. on June 21 and told a judge that Gibson had gotten violent with his ex. The following day, the actor's lawyers returned to court to get the order modified so that he could see their daughter.
Gibson and Grigorieva, 40, split in April after dating for about a year. During that time, a friend of the couple told People, "They're still friends and they'll both raise Lucia together."
In April 2009, Gibson's wife of 30 years, Robyn, filed for divorce. The couple had seven children together. A month after that, Gibson made his first public appearance with Grigorieva. A month later, Gibson appeared on The Late Show with Jay Leno and admitted that he was at fault for the demise of his marriage. "When it's all said and done, I did a pretty good hatchet job on my marriage myself," he said. "I'm to blame."
