Actress Melanie Griffith caused some major speculation this week, when she was seen in public with what appeared to be a black eye.
To dispel the rumors, Melanie, who is married to actor Antonio Banderas, spoke to the Associated Press, revealing that she had surgery on her face to remove early-stage cancer cells. Aside from the facial bruising, Melanie's news is good--the surgery was done early enough "to prevent further complications," the AP reports.
It's been a tough year for Melanie, 52, who did a stint in rehab over the summer while fighting an addiction to pain medication.
