It's all fun and games rehearsing for Dancing with the Stars -- until someone gets hurt. The latest victim on the injury-prone reality show is Melissa Rycroft.
On Sunday afternoon, the former Bachelor star was taken to a Los Angeles hospital after she endured neck and head injuries during her rehearsals with dance pro Tony Dovolani for Monday's live performance.
"Melissa was taken by ambulance to a local hospital where she is currently being examined," Rycroft's representative told People Sunday evening. "She was accompanied to the hospital by her husband, Tye Strickland, and her dance partner, Tony Dovolani. Everyone is taking all necessary precautions at this time."
Rycroft, 29, who is one of the DWTS all-star season's standout competitors, reportedly fell during a camera-blocking rehearsal for this week's group number. According to her Twitter feed, Melissa and Tony were preparing none other than the tango.
"Been a long (and tough week) of Tango...but back to attack again today. Sometimes nothing motivates you like frustration...!" she twittered on Oct. 20.
According to E! News, Rycroft was eventually released from the hospital, but there has not been any confirmation about whether she and Dovolani will be able to perform on tonight's live broadcast, during which each couple will dance twice -- an individual number and a team number.
A thoughtful Dovolani posted on Twitter Sunday night: "Really concerned about @MelissaRycroft..... we don't know if we are dancing tomorrow !!!!! Please keep us in your prayers #trouper"
