Melrose Place

Network: CW
Age: Teen and Adult
Premieres: Sept. 8 at 9 p.m. ET

This sure ain't the same Melrose Place you remember from the '90s. The cast of characters of mostly unknowns seems shinier, sexier and prettier in this updated version. The first season (spoiler alert!) will revolve around the murder of Melrose Place landlady Sydney Andrews (Laura Leighton from the original series) who was found floating in the apartment complex's pool. The list of suspects is long since Andrews had her fingers in most of her residents' lives, including the beds of father and son David Breck (Shaun Sipos) and Dr. Michael Mancini (Thomas Calabro from the original series.) Other residents of Melrose Place include: Ella Simms (Katie Cassidy) a bi-sexual publicist; Auggie Kirkpatrick (Colin Egglesfield), a sous chef at a trendy restaurant; Lauren Yung (Stephanie Jacobsen), a medical intern who is tempted to dabble in prostitution to pay her tuition; and it wouldn't be Melrose Place without the perfect couple Jonah Miller (Michael Rady), an aspiring filmmaker, and Riley Richmond (Jessica Lucas), a first-grade teacher. The newest resident is Violet Foster (Ashlee Simpson-Wentz, 7th Heaven) who may or may not have a personal connection with the recently deceased Andrews.
