Jacqueline Kennedy

Definitely one of our nation’s most beloved First Ladies, when Jacqueline Bouvier became Jacqueline Kennedy in 1953, it was her moment to shine. African-American designer, Ann Lowe of New York City, used over 50 yards of ivory silk taffeta to create the bouffant skirt style and portrait neckline that was so flattering on her. The gown is now on display at the Kennedy Library in Boston, Massachusetts.
