We all know that nurses, not doctors, keep hospitals running, and the nurses of Mercy Hospital join the NBC lineup as the third nurse show to hit the airwaves this year. Veronica Callahan (Taylor Schilling) is fresh off a tour of duty in Iraq complete with the night terrors and an aura of invincibility. She's a gifted nurse with a huge chip on her shoulder, but her personal life is a mess: She has to decide whether to reconcile with her estranged husband (Diego Klattenhoff) or potentially continue a relationship with a doctor (James Tupper) she met in Iraq who has just taken a job at Mercy. Sonia Jimenez (Jaime Lee Kirchner) plays the resident sexy nurse who wants to figure a way out of the neighborhood, and Chloe Payne (Michelle Trachtenberg) is the smart but green rookie who really needs to lose the Hello Kitty scrubs. These three women form the heart of Mercy.
