Hollywood was up bright and early today for the Golden Globes nominations, which are not only an honor themselves but are often a harbinger of the biggest cinematic prizes of all: the Oscars.
Meryl Streep and Sandra Bullock were among today's top honorees, with two nods each: Meryl for her roles in Julia & Julia and It's Complicated; Sandra for her performances in The Proposal and The Blind Side.
Up in The Air, which stars George Clooney as a perpetually on-the-road corporate cog, received the most nominations, with six total. Nine followed closely with five.
Surprises included nominations for Glee, Fox's new hit TV musical dramedy, as well as the lack of nominations for critical favorites Nicole Kidman (Nine) and Abbie Cornish (Bright Star.)
