Just when you think you couldn't love Meryl Streep any more, the Oscar queen says something that's just so awesome you want to stand up and applaud.
ShowbizSpy.com has some choice quotes from Streep about what it's like to be 60 and sexual in Hollywood.
The actress was just nominated for two Best Actress Golden Globes: one for her role in Julie & Julia and another for her role in It's Complicated -- both of which required her to do some on-screen spit-swapping. And -- shock, awe -- she's not going to stop just because she's eligible for a retirement card.
“Sex scenes, love scenes. Yes, at this age it’s unusual for somebody to do a love scene, to be making love,” Streep said, before implying that as long as you're alive, so can be your sex drive.
Age isn't the only carnal stigma Meryl has conquered in her recent roles. She's also shown that you don't need to be as hot as Megan Fox to show your cinematic sexual side.
"The whole idea that you have to look a certain way and be a certain age to earn love is ridiculous," Meryl said. "We love what we love. It doesn’t matter what shape it is. It’s thrilling to see real people on screen."
Referring specifically to her performance with Stanley Tucci, Meryl added:
“Everyone said, 'Isn’t it remarkable that a tall overweight woman and a short bald man could be in love?'" Meryl said. "Well, yeah? You know what I mean? You’re alive."
