So You Think You Can Dance has just been dealt a huge blow, as wildly popular choreographer Mia Michaels announced that she is leaving the show.
"I am officially an adoring fan of SYTYCD...Thank U for 5 wonderful yrs," the Emmy-winning choreographer, 43, Twittered Wednesday night. "To create moments and movement for the world to share with me was a gift...Thanks SYTYCD and look forward to what's ahead for me...lookout world!"
The news of Mia's departure from the dance competition comes as a shock to fans, as the contemporary dance whiz was heavily featured on Wednesday's episode of the FOX show. There's no word on if Mia's decision to move on will be addressed once the show moves from the taped audition episodes to the live shows.
