June 25, 2009: Michael Jackson dies of a painkiller overdose, three weeks before his comeback tour commences.
June 30, 2009: Michael's father Joe Jackson uses BET's memorial tribute to selfishly promote his new record label.
July 2, 2009: The Today Show's Matt Lauer tours the Neverland Ranch, revealing his larger-than-life living quarters and a triple-locked "secret room."
July 3, 2009: Jackson's ex-wife Debbie Rowe is rumored to be fighting for custody of Jackson's children. Per Jackson's will, his mother Katherine Jackson assumes custody.
July 7, 2009: At Jackson's televised memorial service, his children -- whom Jackson had painstakingly kept hidden from the media -- were brought onto the stage, where daughter Paris gave a tearful speech. It was a heartbreaking moment, but was it exploitative?
July 7, 2009: Diana Ross, chosen by Jackson as a secondary guardian to his children, did not attend the memorial service, prompting rumors of a feud between Ross and Katherine Jackson.
July 9, 2009: The media learns that the city of Los Angeles spent $1.4 million in taxpayers' money on Jackson's memorial service.
July 22, 2009: Photos reveal that Omer Bhatti, rumored to be Jackson's secret lovechild, was seated with Jackson's family at the memorial.
August 14, 2009: Jackson's doctors reveal details of his many cosmetic surgeries to Allure Magazine.
August 25, 2009: Jackson's death is ruled a homocide.
August 31, 2009: Macaulay Culkin is briefly rumored to be the biological father of the youngest Jackson child, Prince Michael II a.k.a. Blanket.
October 12, 2009: Michael Jackson's posthumous single "This Is It," promoted as a "new song," turns out to be an old song written by Paul Anka.
November 18, 2009: The father of Jordi Chandler, Jackson's first alleged molestation victim, commits suicide.
March 3, 2010: Katherine Jackson's attorney denies reports that Michael's children were playing with stun guns in the house.
May 27, 2010: Jackson's estate shuts down the unauthorized sale of Michael Jackson belts by his parents Katherine and Joe Jackson. February 8, 2010: Jackson's doctor, Conrad Murray, pleads "not guilty" to involuntary manslaughter.
April 5, 2010: Dr. Conrad Murray's defense is revealed; his lawyers will argue that Michael Jackson killed himself.
April 29, 2010: Jason Pfeiffer, a man who worked for Jackson's dermatologist, says that he and Michael were in a romantic relationship. The dermatologist confirms Pfeiffer's story while Jackson's family emphatically denies it.
June 1, 2010: Details of Michael Jackson's will are released, showing that he left his entire fortune to his children, mother and charity works -- and nothing to his father, friends or employees.
June 13, 2010: In a videotaped interview, Joe Jackson blames wife Katherine for Michael's death.
June 24, 2010: Sister La Toya Jackson says that Michael was murdered for his money.
