Acting Wiz
Michael's stage presence, combined with his vocal and dance talents, made him an obvious choice for The Wiz, the 1978 musical remake of The Wizard of Oz that featured an all-African-American cast. MJ played The Scarecrow, alongside his Motown mentor Diana Ross as Dorothy, Lena Horne as Glinda the Good Witch, Nipsey Russell as The Tin Man and Richard Pryor as the titular Wiz.
