Also in 1988, Jackson bought more than 2,000 acres of land in Southern California to build his dream home, Neverland. The Peter Pan-inspired estate will eventually include a zoo, ferris wheels and other carnival rides, a train, a movie theater and more than three dozen security staffers. Less than a decade after he built the home, Neverland was valued at more than $100 million.
