As Lindsay Lohan prepares for the possibility of another jail sentence, her estranged father Michael Lohan says he fears for his daughter's life. During a visit to HLN's Issues With Jane Velez-Mitchell on Wednesday, Michael Lohan, 51, said he believes his 25-year-old daughter is a drug addict who's avoiding help by gaming the system.
"She certainly doesn't look like the Lindsay that she used to be," said Michael, who has not spoken to his daughter recently. "She had her teeth fixed, thank God. But what caused her teeth to be fixed needs to be fixed itself."
Michael was referring to widely-circulated photos of Lohan with yellow, decaying teeth. She appears to have gotten them bleached before Wednesday's court hearing (which may account for the appearance of bruising on her cheeks). Though it's only speculation, Michael, a former drug addict himself, is convinced that the teeth are a symptom of illegal drug abuse.
"She's smoking either crack or meth," he declared on the show. "One or the other. I'm not going to shade it. You can't dance with the devil and expect to go home with Jesus. This kid is messing around with the wrong people."
Michael blames Lindsay's problem on the enablers who surround her, and says she should take as an example -- of all people! -- Charlie Sheen.
"Charlie Sheen is doing the right thing now finally," claims Michael. "He got rid of his assistant. Lindsay has her assistant around her that just turns a blind eye. Charlie has people that actually are around him that said they'll call the cops if he does something wrong."
The only way for Lindsay to get better, Michael believes, is to go into an intensive drug rehab program. He even has one picked out: G&G Holistic Drug Rehab in Florida. And he says that it's the only thing that could save his daughter at this point.
"She's beating the system," says Michael. "And she's not going to be working any more, and she's going to wind up in a morgue, if someone doesn't do something to get her help."
In a bit of dark irony, Lindsay -- whose probation was revoked Wednesday -- was actually at the morgue Thursday morning, getting a start on the 16 community service hours she's been ordered to serve before her probation violation hearing on Nov. 2. She's off to a rough start, though: She arrived 20 minutes late -- saying that she couldn't find the correct entrance -- and will have to return tomorrow to catch up on orientation. At least she's started showing up at therapy sessions, if her Twitter updates are to be believed.
"With all of the stress and pressure from yesterday and today, I've never been so happy to go to therapy!!!!" the actress tweeted. "Also, I'm sorry for the confusion that I may of caused to those at the Coroner's office. Won't happen again, now I know where to go!"
Let's hope so, for her own sake.
