Heads were shaking in disbelief at the iVillage office yesterday when we heard the news that 19 Kids and Counting mom Michelle Duggar is pregnant with baby number 20. As in two-zero. As in wow. As in ... are women really built to have that many kids?!
Most of us who've been pregnant a time or two just can't fathom going through the morning sickness, fatigue and general body blimping that pregnancy brings 20 freaking times (although we admit the 20-plus years of bigger boobs could be nice!).
Sure, back in the day our grandparents' parents might have had double-digit numbers of offspring, but these days a family of four kids is considered huge. We're not bunnies, after all. But speaking of bunnies, mama Michelle's awesome fertility got us thinking ... just how many wee ones, on average, do different animals have over a lifetime? And where does the Dugger matriarch land on the list? See for yourself!
