Michelle Kwan is going to be a married woman. The Olympic figure skater got engaged to beau Clay Pell on Sept. 3. The skating champion, 32, first met Pell, 30, the director for strategic planning on the White House's National Security staff, in April 2011. "It was a simple decision and it made sense, that's what's so exciting to me," Kwan told People of the proposal. "We are working together as a team, like in [pair skating]." Pell, who popped the question on Block Island, off the coast of Rhode Island, added: "It was amazing from the very beginning how in sync our way of thinking is, our basic values and our sense of priorities. We just both got each other."
