Stocking the Kitchen with Healthy Snacks

"And also just having a kitchen full of healthy snacks … because if there's a bag of chips in my cabinet, I'm going to eat them. I'm going to eat them, and I'm going to eat them until they're gone, right? I don't consider myself a highly disciplined person. I know that if it's in the house -- if it's late, if it's quiet, if I'm bored -- I'm going to go to that.

So we just clean our cupboards out, and we try to put all the snacks that are healthy in clear containers so that the kids can see them. And when you see dried mangos, you remember you have them and then actually that's a really good snack -- it fills you up, gives you good fiber. So we try to put healthy snacks in clear containers and just make sure that what we have is always something that the kids can eat. Fruit out -- all of that is out and acceptable. It's something that they can have whenever they want, and I don’t have to worry about whether their snacks are healthy because we just keep healthy stuff in the kitchen."
